Community Center

Welcome to Community Center!

Residents adore Community Center because it is exactly as it sounds: centrally located with a fabulous community environment. Bordered by Embarcadero, Middlefield, and Newell Road, as well as Channing Avenue, Community Center prides itself on the many neighborhood amenities it has to offer.

First of all there is Rinconada Park with its large tennis court and pool facilities. Lessons are offered to all ages. Or, if you’re looking to relax, the park has a great picnic and barbeque area that’s perfect for casual get togethers with friends and family. Community Center attracts a lot of families as the activities for children are endless. Not only are there great parks but there’s also the Children’s Library, which features story time, Children’s Theatre, and the Junior Museum & Zoo for those ready to get their hands dirty. The museum offers free science classes and hands on exhibits while the zoo has 50 different species of animals to enjoy.

If you’re looking for a taste of culture, you can catch a TheatreWork’s, a community theatre group, production at the Lucie Stern Community Center. Or, if you’ve got Humphrey Bogart on the brain, you can catch an old Hollywood movie at the Stanford Theatre. You also have the option of walking or biking to downtown Palo Alto (a friendly warning, it is a bit of a walk!). Downtown is a colorful collection of unique boutiques and shops alongside some delectable restaurants and cafes.

Homes in Community Center are like an architectural passage through time. The styles range from 1920’s and 30’s Craftsman, 1970’s Eichlers, as well as newly constructed homes. This eclectic mix of architecture makes for a great background for the annual block party and the other social events that always seem to be happening in Community Center.
