Flood Park

Welcome to Flood Park!

Taking the shape of a rather narrow triangle, Flood Park is in fact comprised of three neighborhoods known as Flood Park Triangle, Suburban Park, and Lorelei Manor. All three neighborhoods provide residents with comfortable mid century homes, active communal associations, and easy access to Highway 101, which makes up the eastern boarder of the neighborhood. Flood Park is also bordered by Marsh Road to the north and Bay Road to the west.

The area acquired its name from the charming Flood County Park nestled in the center of the neighborhood. The park is an admirable twenty-one acres of open space with a play structure for kids, baseball diamond, as well as volleyball and horseshoe courts. The BBQ pits and picnic table areas are perfect for get-togethers with friends and family. If the park has a downside, it’s that dogs are not allowed.

Lorelei Manor is situated in the northern most part of Flood Park while Suburban Park is just slightly south. Both these neighborhoods have impressively active and inclusive neighborhood associations. Lorelei Manor residents host block parties, book clubs, and holiday celebrations. Flood Park Triangle is slightly less active and tends to experience more vehicular noise due to its proximity to the 101. However, this does make the Flood Triangle an excellent location for commuters.

Ranch style homes and cottages populate this neighborhood and unlike other areas of Menlo Park, have not undergone as much new construction. Consequently, Flood Park has retained much of its original character and allure and is relatively more affordable compared to other neighborhoods.

Children living in the Flood Park area attend Menlo Park City Schools such as Laurel and Encinal School- two of the top performing elementary schools in the district. Hillview Middle School enrolls students from grade six to eight and has impressively high API scores. Finally, students in high school attend Menlo Atherton High, which scores slightly lower on the APIs but has an excellent program for gifted students.

With commuting convenience, welcoming communities, and affordability, it’s not hard to see why homebuyers choose to live in Flood Park!
